Boise State Athletics Secures M Donation: A Game-Changer for Broncos’ Future!

Big News for Boise State Athletics!

Boise State University just landed a generous $1 million donation! Most of this funding is aimed at boosting the athletic department through projects like the North End Zone Project and the AD Excellence Fund for football. The donor, who prefers to stay anonymous, is also part of the university’s Foundation Board.

Jeramiah Dickey, the Athletic Director, expressed gratitude, saying, “This investment fuels our momentum and inspires others. It also provides our student-athletes with the resources they need to succeed in sports and beyond.” This highlights the community’s commitment to supporting Bronco Athletics.

This donation brings the Lyle Smith Society (LSS) membership to an impressive 321 members. Launched in December 2020, the LSS aims to increase financial support for Boise State’s athletic initiatives. Named after a former coach and athletic director, it plays a crucial role in helping student-athletes thrive, both on the field and in their future careers.

Argia Beristain, CEO of the Boise State University Foundation, noted, “The generosity of our donors creates a real impact. For a new board member to show such commitment early on speaks volumes about their dedication to our mission.” Their support helps sustain programs that benefit all student-athletes.

To join the LSS, individuals can pledge a minimum of $50,000 over five years or donate $50,000 annually. Members can choose where their funds go, whether to the Bronco Nation Fund, Women’s Sports Fund, or other vital projects. This flexibility allows supporters to make meaningful contributions where they are most passionate.

Giving trends show a rise in philanthropy within college athletics, with many universities experiencing similar boosts in donations. In 2022, nearly 90% of college athletic programs reported increased financial support, reflecting a growing culture of community investment.
