Join the Montgomery Biscuits This Friday as They Celebrate the Legacy of George Washington Carver!

Tuskegee University is excited to team up with the Montgomery Biscuits for the second consecutive year. This partnership celebrates the legacy of George Washington Carver, a groundbreaking researcher and scientist whose impact is felt on campus.

On Friday, at 6:35 p.m., the Biscuits will honor Carver’s contributions as they take the field against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. They’ll be known as the “Peanut Runners” for the event, emphasizing Carver’s famous work with peanuts.

This initiative is a joint effort between Tuskegee University, the community of Macon County, and the Biscuits. Leaders like Dr. Olga Bolden-Tiller and Walter Cooper have driven this collaborative project. Dr. Kellei Samuels will kick off the night by throwing the first pitch. The university’s Golden Voices Choir will also perform the National Anthem, adding to the event’s festive atmosphere.

For those interested in attending, tickets can be purchased online or at the stadium. Tuskegee students can get in free with their TU ID, up to the first 50 students. Additionally, a bus will leave campus at 4 p.m. for those who want a ride. Students must inform Scott Johnston by 10 a.m. on Friday to reserve a spot.

This event not only highlights Carver’s work but also reinforces the bond among the university, its students, and the local community. It’s a great way to enjoy a night out while honoring a true pioneer in agricultural science.
