The Arizona Cardinals had some notable picks in the recent draft, notably selecting Jeremiyah Love. Looking ahead, the Cardinals plan to sign six to eight undrafted rookies, with names expected to be announced soon. The rookie minicamp is set for May 8-9, marking the first chance to see Love in action.
On another note, Ossenfort mentioned that the team is in talks with veteran defensive end Calais Campbell, who has had a prestigious career spanning nearly two decades. Whether he joins the Cardinals again remains uncertain, but Ossenfort expressed respect for the player’s experience and contributions.
The quarterback position also stirs curiosity. The selection of Carson Beck doesn’t rule out the chance of drafting another QB in the future. Arizona has previously invested in quarterbacks with high picks, and Ossenfort acknowledged the need to maintain depth in that position, especially with both Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew II set to be free agents after this season.
Most decisions will take shape during training camp, with significant insights expected as the season approaches. As Ossenfort pointed out, early drafts and positional talks only tell part of the story, and it’s during training camp that the real competition begins.
