2026 NFL Draft Grades: Expert Analysis of Every Team’s Picks and Performance

Grading a draft right after it happens is like rating a meal before tasting it. We won’t know how successful each team’s choices are for a few years. However, we can see the different strategies teams used, from picking the top talent to filling specific needs.

AFC East

Buffalo Bills
The Bills traded down from their first-round pick to gather more selections. They picked edge rusher T.J. Parker, a player many expected to go sooner. General Manager Brandon Beane also found good fits like cornerback Davison Igbinosun and offensive tackle Jude Bowry. My favorite pick was linebacker Kaleb Elarms-Orr, who could start right away.
Grade: A

Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins had a whopping 13 picks but didn’t impress me much with this draft. While players like cornerback Chris Johnson and linebacker Kyle Louis could become solid contributors, the risk they took on Alabama’s Kadyn Proctor feels excessive. With a roster rebuild underway, I’m not sure how many wins this season will bring.
Grade: D

New England Patriots
The Patriots chose experienced players who can help right away, like edge rusher Gabe Jacas. Their first-round pick, Caleb Lomu, has the potential to become a great left tackle, though he may not be ready yet. Their draft was solid but seems short on immediate impact.
Grade: B

New York Jets
The Jets traded back into the first round for three top picks. David Bailey, their first selection, could be a strong candidate for Defensive Rookie of the Year. They also added several other promising talents, boosting their potential for the upcoming season and beyond.
Grade: B

AFC North

Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens focused on the interior after losing All-Pro center Tyler Linderbaum. Vega Ioane was a standout pick. They also got solid receivers and a promising cornerback in Chandler Rivers. This draft should pay off, though I wish they’d focused more on the center position.
Grade: A-

Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati invested in a powerful defensive tackle and added depth with two quality centers. Their strategy to protect quarterback Joe Burrow is smart, and I liked their decision to nab underrated corner Tacario Davis.
Grade: B

Cleveland Browns
The Browns seemed to finally make logical picks. They secured an athletic left tackle and picked up talented wide receivers that could elevate their offense. If they improve the quarterback situation, their draft could be pivotal.
Grade: B

Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers’ draft was exciting, with solid picks like young tackle Max Iheanachor and versatile offensive threat Germie Bernard. The selection of quarterback Drew Allar offers potential, but it carries risk.
Grade: A-

AFC South

Houston Texans
The Texans’ picks show a clear reflection of their head coach’s intensity. However, I question their later selections’ value, even if safety Kamari Ramsey could be a standout.
Grade: C+

Indianapolis Colts
The Colts made good picks, securing two All-SEC defenders. They also got solid offensive talent like guard Jalen Farmer who fits well in their system.
Grade: B

Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars struggled to find impactful players this year. Most of their selections seemed to miss the mark compared to other teams.
Grade: D

Tennessee Titans
The Titans made the bold choice to select a top offensive target, Cam Ward. With good picks on Day 3 that add depth, this draft could pay off well.
Grade: B+

AFC West

Denver Broncos
The Broncos added some much-needed depth in their defensive line and several running backs, but their choices felt inconsistent.
Grade: B

Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs invested heavily in their secondary, selecting the top cornerback, Mansoor Delane. Their focus this draft was commendable, and they found some promising talent.
Grade: A

Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders drafted well, starting with their first-round pick and building an exciting class that will contribute immediately.
Grade: A

Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers focused on improving their line to protect QB Justin Herbert. Adding power and size should cater well to their needs.
Grade: B

NFC East

Dallas Cowboys
With two first-round picks, the Cowboys made strategic moves, including selecting safety Caleb Downs and edge rusher Malachi Lawrence. Their picks will significantly enhance their defense.
Grade: A-

New York Giants
The Giants had a strong start, selecting some of the best prospects in this class. They have a chance to turn their roster into a competitor.
Grade: B

Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles focused on adding speed and skill with two impressive wide receivers and other solid picks, strengthening the squad’s aggressive approach.
Grade: A-

Washington Commanders
With fewer picks, the Commanders still managed to snag some solid future stars, especially linebacker Sonny Styles. Hopefully, they can develop these players effectively.
Grade: C

NFC North

Chicago Bears
The Bears made smart picks with strong value in the first round. Their selections across multiple positions seem promising.
Grade: B+

Detroit Lions
Detroit’s draft reflects a blue-collar mentality, focusing on strengthening their offensive and defensive lines. It fits their outlook well.
Grade: B+

Green Bay Packers
The Packers took a defensive-focused approach but could have added more depth elsewhere. Their picks have potential, but I’d like to see more immediate impact.
Grade: C+

Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings have an intriguing mix of prospects for future growth. However, there are risks with their skill players that could affect their season.
Grade: C+

NFC South

Atlanta Falcons
After waiting to make their first selection, the Falcons landed an exciting prospect but fell short with later picks that lacked value.
Grade: C

Carolina Panthers
Carolina had a balanced draft, hitting critical positions. Their selections showed smart planning for future needs.
Grade: B

New Orleans Saints
The Saints focused on upgrading their offense with multiple pass-catchers, plus added strength along the line.
Grade: B

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs made solid early picks on defense, plus they added exciting talent who could develop into key players.
Grade: B

NFC West

Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals made head-scratching decisions, but taking a “can’t-miss” talent like Jeremiyah Love could prove valuable as they move forward.
Grade: C+

Los Angeles Rams
The Rams’ focus on future needs was evident, but some fans may wonder about the immediate impact. Their draft had promise, but questions remain.
Grade: D

San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers made smart selections that match their needs, creating positive potential for their upcoming season.
Grade: B

Seattle Seahawks
Despite having fewer picks, the Seahawks still managed to add promising talent that strengthens their roster nicely.
Grade: B

This draft season was filled with various strategies, risks, and potential. Only time will reveal how well these choices pay off!
