RENO, Nev. — Bouchée Confections has just landed in the spotlight by finishing third in the Features category of Reno Food & Drink Week. This local chocolate and dessert shop is now in the running for the prestigious Silver Star award.
Located at 940 W. Moana Lane #102, Bouchée is one of four finalists competing for this award, which celebrates creativity and execution in the culinary arts. Owner and chef Natalie Landsinger will be interviewed this Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. as part of the final judging process.
Reno Food & Drink Week isn’t just any event. It’s an exclusive program where the best in the business are recognized based on performance. Restaurants are judged on factors such as service, food quality, health inspection scores, and contributions to the community.
The Features category highlights unique dishes and drinks crafted just for this event. Guest feedback during the two-week period determines the top locations. The final decisions are shaped by both public opinions and secret judge evaluations.
Bouchée Confections specializes in gourmet chocolate bonbons, artisan desserts, gelato, and high tea. They pride themselves on using high-quality ingredients like single-origin couverture chocolates and Tahitian vanilla. Landsinger honed her skills in pastry at Ecole Ferrandi in Paris and has a wealth of experience working with top chefs and luxury hotels.
As one of the few dessert shops in Reno that offers high tea, Bouchée has quickly gained a reputation for excellence. Their weekend high tea service needs reservations, reflecting the growing popularity of the experience.
In this year’s Reno Food & Drink Week, Mix Bakeshop took home first place in the Features category, with 10 Torr and Dorinda’s following close behind. For the Showcases category, Belleville Wine Bar snagged the top spot, with The Wheyfarer, Centro, and The Emerson rounding out the top four.
There is only one Silver Star and one Medallion awarded yearly. Winners will be announced in early May, adding to the excitement of the local food scene.
