Gloria Dei Lutheran Church is set to host its monthly food and diaper distribution this Saturday, May 2. This program has been a lifeline for many families in the community since the pandemic began.
The drive-through event runs from 10 a.m. to noon and is open to residents from all surrounding towns. “We provide bags filled with non-perishable food items, along with fresh fruits and vegetables,” shared Tracy Carlson, the church’s social ministry chair. “We also offer diapers, baby wipes, adult incontinence products, and feminine hygiene items, along with bread donated by local grocery stores.”
Each month, the program supports between 250 and 300 families—approximately 900 to 1,150 individuals—showing a real community commitment to those in need.
This initiative kicked off on May 16, 2020, as a direct response to the growing needs during the pandemic. It has since become a crucial resource for many, highlighting the ongoing challenges that families face today.
