Exciting Showdown Ahead: Kansas Softball Faces Oklahoma State in Critical Big 12 Series!

Kansas Softball is heading to Stillwater, Oklahoma, for a big series against Oklahoma State from May 1-3. The first game kicks off on Friday at 5 p.m. CT and will be shown on ESPN+.

The Jayhawks, with a record of 33-16 and 13-8 in the Big 12, are aiming to secure a strong tournament position. They recently achieved a notable 10-0 victory over Wichita State, marking their ninth top 50 RPI win this season. Kansas currently sits at No. 42 in RPI, which is a strong indicator of their performance this year.

Under the leadership of Coach Jennifer McFalls, the team has hit new milestones. This season, they have won the most games since 2015 and shattered records for conference wins, home runs, and total runs scored. “Every time they step on the field, they believe they can win,” McFalls shared, emphasizing the positive mindset driving their success.

In their recent game against Wichita State, the offense was explosive. They jumped ahead quickly, scoring five runs in the first inning, with standout performances like Anna Soles hitting her 12th home run and Hailey Cripe adding her 15th. Pitcher Lila Partridge had an impressive outing, tossing a complete game and allowing no runs.

Oklahoma State, boasting a record of 35-13 and a 14-7 conference mark, is just ahead of Kansas in the standings. They have one of the top pitching staffs in the Big 12, with a team ERA of 3.18. Senior pitcher Ruby Meylan leads the team with impressive stats, including a 2.13 ERA and 186 strikeouts.

You can catch the first game on ESPN+. Live stats will also be available through StatBroadcast, and updates will be posted on the Kansas Softball X account. The following games will be played on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

After this series, Kansas will prepare for the Big 12 Tournament in Oklahoma City from May 7-9, as they continue their push for postseason success.
