Valdosta, GA — Jaya Guilliams, a senior at Georgia Christian, has officially signed to play college basketball at Faulkner University.
Jaya has been passionate about basketball since she was just five years old. “This is a big accomplishment for me,” she shared. “To take my game to the next level means a lot.”
A key reason behind her choice of Faulkner was its focus on Christian education. “My faith is very important to me. I wanted to be with coaches who share my beliefs and values,” she explained.
Support from her school has also made a difference for Jaya. “It feels special to know everyone is cheering for me. The encouragement I get from my community has been amazing,” she said.
According to a recent study by the National Federation of State High School Associations, the number of girls participating in high school basketball has been steadily increasing. This trend shows how vital role models like Jaya are for aspiring athletes.
As Jaya steps into this new chapter, she embodies the dedication and values that many young athletes strive for, encouraging them to chase their dreams while staying true to their beliefs.
