India’s Ministry of Education recently held a vibrant roadshow in Paris for “Bharat Innovates 2026.” The event aimed to spotlight Indian startups and educational innovations on a global stage.
The primary goal was to connect Indian deep-tech startups, universities, and research institutions with potential investors and partners worldwide. “Bharat Innovates 2026,” scheduled for June 14-16, 2026, in Nice, France, will showcase India’s top 100 deep-tech innovations. The Paris roadshow serves as a vital step in building interest from international investors ahead of the main event in Nice.
This initiative opens doors for Indian students and researchers, offering new avenues for global investment and research collaboration. It’s also a significant move to enhance India’s reputation in higher education and innovation.
Over 50 representatives attended from various sectors, including the Ministry of Education and several international institutions. Key players such as “La French Tech” and “VivaTech” were present, alongside prestigious academic bodies like ESCP Business School and École Normale Supérieure. This gathering reflects growing global interest in Indian innovations.
K.M. Prafullachandra Sharma, a Joint Secretary at the Ministry, emphasized that this initiative strengthens India-France relations while expanding the global reach of India’s education sector. Govind Jaiswal, another Joint Secretary, highlighted investment opportunities in India’s booming startup ecosystem.
The focus of “Bharat Innovates 2026” is narrow yet impactful, targeting 13 high-tech sectors. These areas range from advanced computing to biotechnology, and experts believe they will generate significant career and research opportunities.
The platform will facilitate direct connections between investors and startups, featuring one-on-one matchmaking sessions and specialized discussions. Participants can engage in meaningful conversations, exploring partnerships in research, innovation, and market access.
The event aims to transform how Indian innovations reach global markets, a vision first announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the “India-France Year of Innovation.” As the program unfolds, experts anticipate that it will create further opportunities for Indian talent in international education and investment.
