WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State track and field team is gearing up for the 2026 NSIC Outdoor Championships in Duluth, Minnesota. The competition runs from May 7th to 9th at the James S. Malosky Stadium, hosted by the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
The Warriors are on a roll after a strong performance at the Tim Marshall Open. They’re excited to keep the momentum going.
Winona State Highlights:
- Lexi Urbick achieved a personal best in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.18 seconds. She previously set a school record of 13.87 seconds in the prelims at the Todd Pfingsten Open and currently ranks 44th in NCAA Division II.
- Mara Talabac impressed by winning the 800m with a personal best of 2:21.41.
- The team dominated the 1500m event, claiming the top three spots. Kylie Anderson led the pack, finishing in 4:38.79, followed closely by Stella Rusch and Ella Voit.
- Urbick also excelled in the 400m hurdles, setting another personal best at 59.60 seconds, placing her 19th in NCAA Division II.
- Ella Voit made waves by setting a school record in the 3000m steeplechase at the Bryan Clay Invitational, clocking in at 10:27.32, making her the fifth fastest in Division II.
- Kelsey Young won the 5000m at the Phil Esten Challenge, finishing in 18:07.45.
- The 4x100m relay team of Sasha Steinbach, Karissa Birch, Ella Schueler, and Caitlyn Casella set a facility and meet record of 46.75 seconds at the Dick and Mary Johnson Invite.
The Warriors will compete in fifteen events at the championships. Their recent successes hint at a promising future and heighten the excitement around the upcoming competition.
