MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — WVU Hospitals has made an exciting move by purchasing the Monongalia County Health Department and WIC buildings for $6 million.
Nathan Burt, the Chief Operating Officer of WVU Hospitals, shared his enthusiasm, saying, “We’re thrilled to acquire this property on our campus. It’s going to significantly help us in the future.”
The plan for these buildings isn’t set in stone yet, but they aim to enhance healthcare services in the community. Burt mentioned that they are working on a campus master plan that outlines future expansions, ensuring the new buildings will play a vital role in meeting local healthcare needs.
In addition to the new purchase, WVU Hospitals is also adding an eye institute near the corner of Van Voorhis and Elmer Prince Drive, conveniently located next to the current health department buildings. This project aims to further strengthen the hospital’s service offerings.
Furthermore, WVU Hospitals is actively expanding its cancer services and other key health programs.
