CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Champaign is kicking off a new event series called Sound Bite Sunday, designed for everyone in the community. It’s a fun blend of live music and local food, creating a space for families to enjoy and connect.
On its launch day, the event even had special activities for Mother’s Day.
Sheena Huntt, the event host, expressed her pride in the community. “It’s a beautiful day with the sun shining. I’m glad we have this space for people to come together,” she said.
Each Sunday promises games, trivia, and interactive fun, topped off with live performances by local artists. Huntt emphasized that it also helps local businesses thrive. “We want more people to explore downtown Champaign and discover its amazing restaurants and shops,” she added.
Interestingly, Huntt is not just an emcee; she’s also a mother. Her daughter, Layla, was excited to see her mom in action for the first time. “My mom taught me to be strong and keep going,” Layla shared, emphasizing resilience as a key lesson.
Over the coming weeks, different local bands will take the stage, giving performers a chance to shine. Layla hopes that through these events, attendees will discover all the hidden gems that Champaign has to offer.
