Experience History: Saints vs. Steelers in NFL’s Inaugural Paris Game on October 25!

Louisiana’s connection with France dates back to the 17th century when it was a French colony. Even today, the ties remain strong. French businesses have created over 3,000 jobs in the state, and there’s been a remarkable 39% surge in French business growth in the last decade.

In 2023, the New Orleans Saints took this connection further when the NFL granted them international marketing rights in France. This makes the Saints the first team to have this privilege. The Saints organization, led by Mrs. Benson, collaborates closely with Louisiana Economic Development to foster business ventures and promote tourism in New Orleans.

Brett Gosper, NFL Head of Europe & Asia Pacific, expressed excitement about the upcoming 2026 NFL game in Paris, where the Saints will face the Steelers at the Stade de France. He noted that Paris is a global hub for sports and culture, making it an ideal location for an NFL game.

The event is backed by several organizations, including the French Department of Sports and local governments. Notably, the NFL has a growing fan base in France, boasting over 14 million enthusiasts. To enhance this connection, the NFL Flag program launched in 2023. This youth flag football initiative, in partnership with the French American Football Federation, already engages over 8,000 kids, with plans to expand.

This partnership showcases how sports can transcend borders, fostering cultural exchange and economic collaboration. The NFL’s efforts in France not only bring the excitement of American football to new fans but also strengthen existing ties between Louisiana and France, a bond that has stood the test of time.
