Marywood University Honors Graduates at 108th Annual Commencement Ceremony

More than 930 graduates celebrated at Marywood University’s 108th commencement ceremony on Saturday at Mohegan Arena. President Lisa A. Lori, J.D., handed out degrees to students from 25 states and nine countries. Graduates came from the College of Health Sciences and the Reap College of Creative and Professional Studies.

The most popular graduate programs were in business, social work, and physician assistant studies. For undergraduates, business, architecture, and nursing led the way.

Keynote speaker Caroline Rhea, an actress known for her role in “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” shared her wisdom with the graduates. She received an honorary doctorate and reminded them to use their abilities for positive change. “Persevere and keep trying,” she urged.

Statistics about graduation rates show that the class of 2026 is part of a growing trend. In 2022, about 3.3 million students graduated in the U.S., with the number of degrees awarded increasing steadily over the years. This reflects a cultural shift toward higher education as a pathway to success.

Many graduates took to social media to share their excitement. Hashtags like #Marywood2026 were trending, showcasing the school’s vibrant community and the pride of its students and families.
