Numerous police vehicles crowded a convenience store parking lot in Thrasher’s Corner following a shooting incident involving Bothell police on Tuesday morning.
The event began around 12:20 a.m. when an officer noticed a car making an illegal U-turn on Bothell-Everett Highway. The car then parked in a 7-Eleven lot. As the officer approached, the driver bolted from the vehicle. Someone else inside switched to the driver’s seat. When the officer got closer, a passenger pointed a gun at him. In response, the officer fired several rounds.
The suspects then reversed and rammed the officer’s patrol car before fleeing the scene. About an hour later, the same car showed up at St. Anne Hospital in Burien. A 19-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds was dropped off, and he was later transferred to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment.
The abandoned vehicle was later found in Burien and collected as evidence. The identities of the original driver and other passengers remain unknown.
