Round 2 Results: NCAA Marana Regional
In Marana, Arizona, the Oklahoma State men’s golf team delivered an impressive performance during the second round of the NCAA Marana Regional. They shot a solid 14-under 274, which brought their total score to 25-under 551. This places them in second, just ten strokes behind the leading team, Arizona, which had an outstanding round of 264.
The competition is fierce at The Gallery Golf Club, a challenging par-72 course. Arkansas State follows closely in third with a total of 555, while LSU and Duke are just behind at 558 and 562, respectively.
A standout moment came from junior Eric Lee, who had a career round, scoring a remarkable 9-under 63. This performance tied him for first place overall, alongside Alabama’s William Jennings. Lee’s score was just one shot shy of the school record for 18 holes and the best ever by an OSU golfer in a regional, set by Jordan Niebrugge in 2015.
Lee’s day was marked by consistent play; he made birdies right from the second hole and finished his round with an incredible stretch of four consecutive birdies. His ability to maintain focus without any bogeys throughout the round showcased his skill and mental strength.
Meanwhile, junior Preston Stout performed well too, shooting a solid 1-under 71 and tying for ninth place. Gaven Lane tied for 17th with a total of 140 after another steady round of 70. Ethan Fang bounced back from an earlier round of 75, securing a 70 to finish at 145. Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson carded a 75 and ended the day tied for 39th at 146.
As they gear up for the final round, the Cowboys hope to secure their place in the upcoming NCAA Championship. They are scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. CST, playing alongside Arizona and Arkansas State.
