Quinta Brunson is stepping into the iconic role of Betty Boop. The Emmy-winning creator of “Abbott Elementary” will not only star in the film but also develop it through her company, Fifth Chance Productions. They are working closely with Mark Fleischer, the grandson of the original creator, Max Fleischer.
The film aims to explore Betty Boop’s rich history and evolution from her creation nearly a century ago. It will focus on Max Fleischer’s journey in bringing this beloved animated character to life while navigating the challenges of the animation industry.
This marks Betty Boop’s first lead role in a theatrical film since the 1930s. Back then, she broke ground as one of the first independent animated female stars.
