Wake Forest University has announced Peter Rodriguez as its 15th President, starting July 1, 2026. Currently the dean of Rice University’s School of Business, Rodriguez is known for his impactful leadership in academia. Jeanne Whitman Bobbitt, co-chair of the Presidential Search Committee, praised him as an “intellectually capable, avid learner and researcher.”

Rodriguez brings a wealth of experience in international trade, economic history, and public finance. At Rice, he significantly boosted MBA enrollment and initiated innovative programs. Under his guidance, the school achieved national prominence. His success earned him recognition as Poets&Quants’ Dean of the Year in 2025.
