Celebrating Lindstrom’s Journey: A Look Back at His Impactful K-State Career – Kansas State University Athletics

Kansas State Golfer Alex Lindstrom’s Final Round at NCAA Regional

Kansas State’s senior golfer, Alex Lindstrom, wrapped up his college career with a 1-over par round of 72 at the 2026 NCAA Corvallis Regional. The event took place at Trysting Tree Golf Club, a challenging 7,361-yard course.

Hailing from Halmstad, Sweden, Lindstrom transferred to Kansas State from Hutchinson Community College. He climbed three spots during his final round, finishing tied for 26th at even-par 213.

Head coach Grant Robbins expressed pride in Lindstrom’s growth over the years. “It was just the putter that kind of let him down,” Robbins noted. Lindstrom’s journey has been impressive; he improved each season and became a joy to coach. As he moves into professional golf, many are excited to see where his talent takes him.

In this final round, Lindstrom had a mix of highs and lows. He started with two birdies on holes 2 and 5 but had bogeys on 3 and 4, resulting in an even par for the front nine. His last birdie came on the par-4 15th hole, followed by a bogey on 17.

This season, Lindstrom led his team with an average score of 72.09, narrowly missing the school’s top-10 list. His overall average of 72.93 across three seasons would have ranked him seventh if he had played a few more rounds.

For context, in recent NCAA golf tournaments, competition continues to tighten. Liberty’s Michael Lugiano won this year’s event with an impressive 12-under par 201. The Oklahoma team claimed the title at 34-under par 818. Notably, advancing teams have led to intriguing dynamics where strong individual performances from non-advancing players can shine a light on talent outside the leading teams.

As Lindstrom prepares for this next chapter, many fans and fellow players are rallying behind him, sharing their support on social media. His journey serves as an inspiration, underscoring the importance of perseverance and passion in sports.
