The Ministry of Education, alongside the Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA), hosted the Bharat Innovates Investor showcase in Bengaluru. This event highlighted 24 promising deep-tech startups from India.
More than 90 investors attended, managing over $85 billion in assets. Their goal? To connect with companies that embody the spirit of innovation. The featured startups spanned various sectors, including space technology, electric aviation, defense, semiconductors, and even quantum computing.
The presentations were structured. Each founder had 15 minutes: 10 for a pitch and 5 for questions. Many investors showed interest in further discussions with these startups in the near future.
Saumya Gupta, from the Ministry of Education, emphasized the importance of such platforms. They allow deep-tech entrepreneurs to engage with investors willing to support their journey toward global scaling.
This showcase is part of a larger initiative called Bharat Innovates, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The flagship event aims to feature about 120 research-driven Indian ventures, seeking to attract attention from global industry leaders and investors.
Focusing on 13 key technology areas—like advanced computing and biotechnology—this initiative aims to build stronger connections between Indian innovators and the international market. As we witness this growth, it’s exciting to think about the global opportunities that lie ahead for India’s deep-tech sector.
According to a recent report by McKinsey, India’s tech sector is expected to grow to $1 trillion by 2025, underscoring the potential of these startups.
