On April 4, fans will be excited to hear Brandi Carlile’s long-held dream come true. The talented singer-songwriter from Maple Valley is teaming up with Elton John for a surprise collaboration album called “Who Believes In Angels?” This collection features 10 tracks and promises to be something special.
Brandi shared her enthusiasm with her fans, explaining how important this project is to her. She said, “I’m living out a dream by making music with the person who inspired me to write my very first song. Elton called me one day and invited me to breakfast. As soon as I arrived, he suggested we make an album together with Bernie and Andrew Watt producing.”
Bernie Taupin, a legendary lyricist, has worked with Elton John on many famous hits, like “Tiny Dancer” and “Rocket Man.” Andrew Watt, known for his work with Pearl Jam, also produced Eddie Vedder’s solo album. It’s clear that this collaboration is backed by an incredible team.
Brandi was initially in disbelief about the opportunity. She expressed her concerns about Elton perhaps changing his mind. But she quickly learned that Elton is a man of his word. “I was stunned and worried he would regret asking me,” she confessed, “but he’s always true to his word.”
The recording process took nearly three weeks at Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles. Although it had its challenges, both Brandi and Elton found the experience to be fulfilling. “This album came out just as I hoped,” Elton shared in a teaser trailer. “It’s one of the greatest musical experiences of my life.”
The lead single and title track from the album are already available for streaming. Fans can look forward to hearing more of Carlile and John’s collaborative magic. Additionally, this team has also received an Oscar nomination for their song “Never Too Late” from the documentary “Elton John: Never Too Late.”
