District 1 Girls Wrestling Qualifier

Join us at 9 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, at Squalicum High School for a key district wrestling tournament. The best girl wrestlers from the Northwest Conference will be competing. In the 2A division, the top four athletes in each weight class will earn a spot in the Mat Classic. Other divisions will have two spots each to fill.

WWU Men’s Basketball vs. Seattle Pacific

Catch the action at 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, at Carver Gymnasium. The Western Washington University Vikings are riding a wave of six straight wins, placing them fourth in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. They recently made an impressive comeback against Alaska Fairbanks, overcoming a seven-point deficit. Seattle Pacific is also on a hot streak with four consecutive wins, holding a slight edge over the Vikings in the standings.

Nature Walk at the River in Maple Falls

Take a break and enjoy the outdoors with naturalist Jazmen Yoder. Join us at noon on Friday, February 14, at Northwest Natura Lands in Maple Falls. This informal event is all about exploring nature. You can search for mushrooms, learn about local plants and fungi, or just enjoy the wildlife around you. An estimated donation of $10 is appreciated, and pre-registration is required.

  • Girls Basketball: Blaine at Sedro-Woolley, 1 p.m.; Burlington-Edison at Sehome, 6 p.m.
  • Wrestling: Various state qualifiers across different high schools starting at 9 a.m.
  • Girls Bowling: 1A/2A state championships in Tukwila.
  • WWU Women’s Basketball: at Northwest Nazarene, 5:15 p.m.; Men’s game at 7 p.m.
  • Pro Sports: Seattle Kraken at Calgary Flames, 7 p.m.

Sunday, February 9

  • Pro Sports: NFL Super Bowl in New Orleans, 3:30 p.m.

Monday, February 10

  • Boys Basketball: 1A District 1 tournament at various locations.
  • Girls Basketball: 1A and 2A District 1 tournaments at various locations.
