Exciting Development: Oleander Drive’s New Entertainment Center Moves Closer to Reality!

An exciting new entertainment center may be on its way to Oleander Drive in Wilmington, N.C. The project, proposed by Strike LLC, would include a bowling alley, pickleball courts, and an arcade, all within a spacious 40,000 square feet.

The developers presented their plans to the Wilmington Planning Commission, highlighting the area’s growth and potential for a business like this. David Edmonds, the project manager, noted that with other entertainment options like Dave and Busters coming to the area, Oleander Drive is a prime location.

Situated near popular places like Jungle Rapids and Bats and Brews, the proposed site is well positioned to attract visitors. The Planning Commission echoed these sentiments, also appreciating the developers’ focus on safety, including plans for a new traffic light at the intersection of Oleander Drive and Dogwood Lane.

Local business owners like Larry Casey, who runs a Southern soul food restaurant nearby, believe the new entertainment center could benefit the entire community. Casey mentioned that a stoplight will help ease traffic issues and enhance access to nearby businesses. He sees the potential for increased customers, especially since another bowling alley in the area closed down.

With strong support from the Planning Board, the proposal has received a recommendation for approval. Next, it will be presented to the Wilmington City Council on March 3rd. Community excitement is building as residents look forward to new entertainment options in their area.
