A recent filing with the FCC has brought attention to a new pair of Bluetooth headphones from Apple, identified by the model number A3577. According to a report by MacRumors, this product is described simply as “Bluetooth over-ear headphones” and includes features like a built-in battery, microphone, and antenna.
Apple has not officially announced these headphones, which leaves many questions unanswered. With much of the filing redacted for confidentiality, it’s unclear if these headphones will be branded under Apple or Beats. This uncertainty is heightened by Apple’s naming conventions. Both AirPods and Beats share a similar “A####” format, making it challenging to distinguish between them.
Recent Beats products have also adopted this system; for instance, the Beats Studio Pro was assigned A2924, while the Powerbeats Pro 2 included models A3157 and A3160 for the earbuds and charging case, respectively. Considering Apple has recently launched the AirPods Max 2 (model A3454), it seems more likely that the new headphones belong to Beats. The current lineup includes the Beats Studio Pro, released in July 2023, and the Beats Solo 4, introduced in April 2024.
Consumer interest in audio products is growing, with headphones seeing increased sales. In 2022, the headphones market was valued at over $28 billion and is projected to grow by 8% annually, fueled by the rise of remote work and content streaming. This trend emphasizes the demand for high-quality audio devices.
Apple has a history of making substantial moves in the headphone space. The company’s push toward audio technology has changed how many people experience sound. Expert opinions suggest that the inclusion of new features, like improved noise cancellation and enhanced spatial audio, could take this upcoming product to another level.
As listeners await more details, social media is buzzing with excitement and speculation. Many fans are eager to see whether these headphones will offer a fresh take on the traditional Bluetooth headphone design.
What do you think these new headphones will bring to the table? Feel free to share your thoughts!
