PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Coach Gary Redus II welcomed Hope Masonius to the 2026-27 roster this Friday. Masonius, from Spring Lake, spent her last two seasons playing at Bucknell.
“Bringing Hope home shows our commitment to New Jersey talent,” Redus stated. “She comes from a family with strong ties to New Jersey basketball. Finding a player with her drive and competitiveness is special. We believe she’ll work hard, be a great teammate, and lead by example.”
In her sophomore year, the 5-foot-9 guard played 23 games, making seven starts. After being sidelined her freshman year due to injury, she averaged 2.3 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. Notably, she scored a career-high 14 points against Vermont and recorded eight rebounds and 10 assists in a game against Gwynedd Mercy University.
Before college, Masonius was a star at Manasquan High School, where she scored over 1,000 points and won state championships in 2022 and 2024. Her hard work earned her several honors, including First Team All-Group State and First Team All-Shore Conference.
Masonius comes from a family of athletes; she has nine siblings, including her sister Faith, who played at Maryland and Seton Hall. Their mother coached under Geno Auriemma at UConn and is now the founder of New Jersey Rise Basketball.

This shows young female athletes are getting more opportunities and support than ever before.
