Missouri Department of Conservation
If you want to get your hunter education certification, the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) has a great opportunity for you. A skills course will be held on Thursday, February 13, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the MDC’s Kansas City Regional Office, located in the James A. Reed Memorial Wildlife Area in Lee’s Summit.
This course is perfect for anyone aged 11 and up. If younger participants want to attend, parents are welcome to join them, but it’s not required.
Keep in mind that this skills course is the second step in obtaining your certification. You must finish the knowledge portion before attending. You have a couple of options for this part. You can complete it online for a small fee, or you can go through the chapter review questions in the student Hunter Education manual. You can find student manuals and online course access on the MDC website. Free manuals are also available at any MDC office. Don’t forget to bring proof that you’ve completed this part to the class!
To sign up for the in-person course, head over to the MDC registration page.
The MDC Kansas City Regional Office is located at 12405 SE Ranson Road in Lee’s Summit. If you have any questions, you can call their office at (816) 622-0900.
