Wolfpack Swimmers Shine at TYR Pro Swim Series
Five talented swimmers from the Wolfpack Elite team made their way to Sacramento for the TYR Pro Swim Series held from May 20-23. Competing were Gavin Keogh, Jerry Fox, Daniel Diehl, Katharine Berkoff, and Aiden Hayes.
Daniel Diehl, a rising senior, had an impressive run. He earned three medals in just three days. He kicked off the event by snagging a gold in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 53.74 seconds. He followed that up with a silver in the 200 backstroke, finishing in 1:57.92, and claimed a bronze in the 50 backstroke with a time of 25.37 seconds.
Katharine Berkoff was another standout, winning gold in both the 50 backstroke (27.41) and the 100 backstroke (58.88). Her performances showcased her skill and dedication.
Aiden Hayes made his professional debut and did not disappoint. He took home silver in the 50 backstroke (25.36), finishing just ahead of teammate Diehl. Hayes also secured a bronze in the 100 butterfly, clocking in at 52.60 seconds.
Gavin Keogh, a rising sophomore, added to the team’s success with a bronze in the 200 backstroke, completing the race in 1:59.27. Though Jerry Fox didn’t reach the podium, he showed tenacity by making the finals in both the 50 and 100 freestyle events.
Overall, the Wolfpack earned a total of eight medals at this meet:
