London: A new chapter in the India-UK education partnership has begun with fresh scholarships for Indian students at King’s College London. This initiative focuses on healthcare and innovation, aiming to enhance educational opportunities and outcomes in both countries.
The Hinduja Foundation, linked to the Hinduja Group, teamed up with King’s College two years ago. Their goal? To improve healthcare systems in India, aligning them with global standards.
Indian students can apply for full four-year PhDs in healthcare technologies or a one-year MSc in MedTech Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Ashok Hinduja, Chairman of the Hinduja Foundation, emphasizes the importance of nurturing future talent. He believes it’s essential for building resilient healthcare systems in India. “We want Indian students to benefit from global expertise and advance India’s role in the healthcare sector,” he said.
Last year, three PhD students and two MSc students began their studies. Now, applications are open for four PhD and five MSc scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year.
According to King’s College London, the Hinduja Scholarship provides either partial or full tuition coverage for students from India. This initiative aims to empower students to tackle real-world healthcare challenges and innovate in medical technology.
The partnership also includes the Hinduja-King’s Health Partners Academy, which is designed to cultivate the next generation of healthcare professionals and innovators in both India and the UK. Recent statistics show that India is home to a growing number of startups focused on healthcare technology, increasing the demand for skilled professionals in this field.
The Hinduja Foundation stands by its commitment to impactful research and education. It reflects the vision of its founder, Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja, who established the foundation in Mumbai in 1968 to drive positive changes in education, healthcare, and social welfare.
