Georgia Tech baseball is making waves this season. With a record of 48-9 and 25-5 in the ACC, the Yellow Jackets have earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming NCAA Baseball Tournament. They’ll kick off the Atlanta Regional at Mac Nease Baseball Park on May 29, going up against UIC at noon, which will be aired live on ACC Network.
It’s a big moment for Georgia Tech. This marks their 37th NCAA Tournament appearance, and it’s especially exciting since they last hosted a regional in 2019. Historically, the Jackets have a solid record in these tournaments, winning 26 out of 41 home regional games.
This season, Georgia Tech has boasted an impressive offense, achieving remarkable statistics. They hold the best batting average (.358) and on-base percentage (.469) in modern college baseball history. They’ve also set records for most hits at 713 and runs at 616 among Power Conference teams.
In a remarkable feat, Georgia Tech is the first Atlantic Coast Conference team in 13 years to capture both the regular season and tournament titles. Their recent victory over North Carolina in the ACC Tournament final showcased their strength, finishing with a score of 13-6. This achievement ties them for the ACC record with 25 wins during the regular season, a record not seen since the 2010-11 season.
