Pizza in Las Vegas is better than ever! The city is now a hotspot for pizza lovers, showcasing a variety of styles that cater to all tastes. Recently, Food Network introduced a new show called “Food Network’s Top 10,” where top chefs share their picks for the best dishes in the U.S. Not surprisingly, Las Vegas made a mark in the pizza category.
### Grandma White Pie
One standout is the Grandma White Pie from Good Pie, owned by Vincent Rotolo. This pizzeria has three locations, with the flagship at 1212 S. Main St. The pie secured the 5th spot on the list. The dish, sometimes called a 7-Cheese White Pie Remix on social media, features a unique method of preparation. Rotolo dimpled the dough to prevent large air bubbles, spreading garlic oil, Pecorino, and fresh mozzarella on top.
When it’s done baking, he adds creamy ricotta, burrata, chili flakes, and a drizzle of honey. A hint of lemon zest and Grana Padano cheese finish it off. The creativity at Good Pie reflects the vibrant pizza culture in Las Vegas.
Rotolo is also part of the Las Vegas Pizza Alliance, which promotes local pizza makers. Since 2019, they’ve organized the Las Vegas Pizza Festival, celebrating the city’s thriving pizza scene.
### The Sicilian Touch
Another contender is the Sicilian pizza from Metro Pizza, taking the 10th spot. Known for its focaccia-like crust, this pie uses dough that ferments for five days. After being shaped and baked, it’s topped with a house marinara sauce, mozzarella, and Italian sausage, then finished with ricotta, pesto, and fresh basil. Co-founder John Arena, affectionately called the Don of Dough, has served the Vegas community for 46 years and is about to open a new slice shop called Metro Sliceteria.
### Pizza Beyond Vegas
Other cities are also making waves in the pizza world. Chicago and New York each boast two entries on the list, including unique options like a lobster roll pizza and a clam casino pie. The top prize went to a burrata pizza from L’industrie in Brooklyn, showing just how dynamic the pizza landscape is across the country.
In recent years, the pizza trend has also exploded on social media, with fans sharing their favorite slices and unique combinations. Many people are looking for not just a meal, but an experience, and these pizzerias deliver.
If you’re a pizza lover, Las Vegas has something special waiting for you. So, why not explore the delicious options available and support local businesses along the way?
