University of Memphis Golf at NCAA Championships: Day 1 Recap
CARLSBAD, Calif. — The University of Memphis men’s golf team kicked off the NCAA Championships at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa. After the first round, the Tigers shot a 13-over-par 301, placing them in 27th position. UCLA led the pack with an impressive 8-under-par 280.
While Memphis trails just nine strokes behind a tie for 15th place, there’s still a chance to advance. The top 15 teams and the top nine individual players not on qualifying teams will move to the final round.

Christian Morneau and Diego Lourenco both shot 5-over at 77, sharing 116th place. Cian O’Connor rounded out the team with an 8-over 80, placing him in 146th.
