Savona Food Works is coming to west Charlotte! This new food hall spans 30,000 square feet and is part of a larger development at Savona Mill, located along South Turner Avenue near I-77. Although it won’t open until 2027, excitement is already building.
This mixed-use area will feature at least 25 food stalls, a full-service restaurant and bar, a coffee shop, and even a rooftop bar. Plus, there will be indoor and outdoor seating and event spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Renowned food hall operator Robert Montwaid envisions Savona Food Works as a hub for local chefs and entrepreneurs. “It will be a place where the community can come together,” he said. He emphasizes that well-planned food halls can truly reflect the vibrant culture of their neighborhoods.
Interestingly, food halls have become increasingly popular across the U.S. According to a 2023 report from the Food Hall Association, there are now over 300 food halls in operation, with many more planned. These spaces often provide a mix of dining options that cater to diverse tastes, encouraging social interaction and a sense of community.
Though specific vendors for Savona Food Works aren’t confirmed yet, the anticipation suggests it will be a hotspot for food lovers. The historic setting of the Weave building, developed in the early 1900s, adds an authentic charm to the venue.
As food trends evolve, many people are sharing their thoughts on social media. Users are excited about unique dining experiences and local flavors, which food halls often provide. This new project could make a significant impact, not just on the local food scene but also on community engagement.
Savona Food Works aims to be more than just a place to eat; it’s set to become a gathering spot for west Charlotte. You can follow its progress and learn more about upcoming developments as we move closer to its opening.
