Google has just rolled out its latest spring update, the June Android Drop, and hinted at more exciting features coming in Android 17.
One of the standout updates is Quick Share, which is expanding its AirDrop compatibility to include devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, OnePlus 15, Xiaomi 17T Pro, Vivo X300, and Honor Magic V6. This means sharing files between these devices will be smoother than ever.
Another new feature is found in Google Play Books, where a tool called “Book Insights” uses AI to enhance the reading experience. When you pull back on a page, you’ll see a light bulb icon. Tapping it opens a chat where you can ask questions about the book, its themes, and characters. This feature is initially available for select English titles, many of which are free.
For parents, the Personal Safety app is expanding its capabilities to users under 13. This app can display vital medical information on the device lock screen and automatically contact emergency services in case of a car crash, along with handy location-sharing features.
Google is also moving into the fashion space with a Wardrobe feature in Google Photos. This tool helps catalog your outfits by analyzing your photo library, allowing you to mix and match clothes virtually. It’ll be available soon for users in the U.S., India, and Brazil who have Android 10 or higher.
Moreover, the Circle to Search feature lets Android 14+ users find every item in an outfit with a simple guide called “Find the look.”
Lastly, Emoji Kitchen will introduce new combinations, keeping your messaging lively and fun.
In a world where technology continues to evolve, these updates show how companies like Google are prioritizing user experience and creativity. As people increasingly rely on their devices for daily tasks, these features inspire a seamless blend of productivity and enjoyment.
