Exciting Achievements in Women’s Golf at South Carolina
For the 11th straight year, South Carolina is celebrating its talented golfers. Junior Vairana Heck and sophomore Eila Galitsky earned honorable mention as All-Americans for the 2025-26 season. This is Heck’s first All-America honor, while Galitsky has received this accolade three times now.
Under head coach Kalen Anderson, South Carolina has seen a remarkable 56 All-America honors awarded to 17 players over the past 19 seasons. This consistent success showcases the program’s strength.
Galitsky made waves in her freshman year and continued to shine this past season. She boasted a scoring average of 71.76, leading the team with five top-10 finishes and recording 15 rounds at par or better across 10 tournaments. Notably, she kicked off the season with a win at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate. However, she narrowly missed qualifying for the NCAA Championship as an individual, finishing T-6th at the NCAA Louisville Regional.
Heck also had an impressive season, averaging 71.86 and securing seven top-20 finishes. Her highlight came with a win at the Shootout at Wachesaw. She was especially strong at the SEC Championship, finishing T-8th.
Currently, Galitsky ranks 12th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, while Heck sits at 133rd. These rankings reflect their hard work and potential for future success.
The competition for collegiate golfers has become more intense in recent years. According to the NCAA, participation in women’s golf has increased by nearly 20% over the past decade. This growth is encouraging for young athletes who aspire to compete at the highest level.
