The 2027 BMW M2 is finally here, and it’s packing the M xDrive all-wheel drive system borrowed from the M3 and M4. This long-awaited addition brings new excitement to the M2 lineup.
Under the hood, you’ll still find the reliable 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine, churning out 473 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque, just like the rear-drive version. You can choose between an eight-speed automatic or stick with the traditional six-speed manual. However, the AWD option won’t be available for the manual transmission.

On the downside, the addition of AWD increases the car’s weight. The xDrive model weighs 3,988 pounds, which is 121 pounds heavier than the automatic M2 and 218 pounds more than the lighter M2 CS.
In terms of aesthetics, the new Individual Borusan Turkish Blue is a standout color for 2027. It’s demonstrated in the launch model, albeit missing the xDrive badge in European images.
Pricing for the M2 xDrive starts at $74,950, which is a $4,600 increase compared to the base model of 2026. Still, it’s $18,100 less than the M4 Competition xDrive, making it an attractive performance option for enthusiasts.
