Our latest Google Finance upgrades, including a new app

Google Finance is coming out of beta this week with new features for tracking investments, including a new Android app. The update also brings portfolios to the service globally, giving users a way to consolidate holdings and view performance data in one place.

The company said the new Google Finance includes insights tailored to investments, with information on asset allocation and other portfolio details. Existing Google Finance portfolios will be available automatically.

Users can also create a new portfolio by uploading screenshots or files such as CSVs or PDFs that show their holdings, or by describing their investments to get started.

The change matters for users who want to monitor investments across different assets in a single dashboard, rather than checking each holding separately.
