Exciting News: Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department Welcomes New Nurse Practitioner!

PARKERSBURG — The Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department is excited to announce that Devena Moore is now a licensed nurse practitioner in West Virginia.

Moore has dedicated 17 years to the Health Department. As a family nurse practitioner, she can provide a range of services for patients of all ages, including:

  • Preventive care like immunizations and well-child exams
  • Physical exams for work, school, and health screenings
  • Women’s health services
  • Nexplanon insertions and removals
  • General health screenings
  • Health and wellness education
  • STI education, screenings, and treatment
  • Referrals to specialists

Moore’s educational journey began at Washington State College of Ohio, where she became a licensed practical nurse in 2011. After several years as an LPN, she earned her associate’s degree in nursing in 2022 and became a registered nurse. She completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Chamberlain University in July 2023 and is set to receive her master’s degree with a focus on family nurse practitioner studies in 2024.

Born and raised in Wood County, Moore is eager to give back to her community now that she has achieved this milestone.

The Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department serves multiple counties, including Wood, Wirt, Calhoun, Pleasants, Ritchie, and Roane.
