Help Us Feed Our Displaced Community: Donate to the Food Pantry Today!

TAMPA, Fla. — The Funky Flamingo in Gulfport is stepping up to help those still feeling the effects of last year’s hurricanes. However, they need your help to keep their food pantry stocked.

Located at 1418 58th St. S, The Funky Flamingo is more than just a store selling produce and deli items. It also operates a food pantry that opened almost two years ago to support the community, especially as other pantries began closing down. The need for its services has grown, especially among families displaced by recent storms.

Anita McLaughlin, one of the owners, mentions that they’re looking for ready-to-eat items. “We serve about 20 to 30 people who rely on our pantry,” she said. “The end of the month is especially tough for many. We’ve had some good donations lately, but it’s still not enough.”

The pantry urgently needs items like tuna, chili with beans, and oatmeal. They currently operate by appointment only, but donations can be made anytime during store hours.

Your support can make a real difference for families in need. Together, we can help the Gulfport community recover and rebuild.
