SRC Holdings Merges Subsidiaries

SRC Holdings is combining its subsidiaries, Global Recovery Corp. and SRC’s Whole Goods division, into one new entity called SRC Industrial Corp. This change, effective from January 27, aims to improve manufacturing and remanufacturing processes.

The merger will enhance the production of energy and power generation equipment for rental services, disaster relief, construction, and farming. SRC Industrial will offer a variety of products such as power units, engines, generators, and air compressors.

Over the next five years, SRC Industrial plans to create more than 200 jobs in Springfield. The company is also investing $19 million to build a new 200,000-square-foot facility on N. Mulroy Road, expected to open later this year.

Pitt Technology Expands AI Services

Pitt Technology Group is now offering private AI infrastructure solutions. These new services help clients use AI tools securely on their own systems.

Our goal is to make technology easier and more affordable for businesses,” said Doug Pitt from Pitt Technology Group. “With AI, we’re doing just that.”

Recent offerings include AI training, cloud solutions, Microsoft Copilot integration, and services that run entirely on clients’ own networks.

Library District Seeks Community Input

The Springfield-Greene County Library District wants input for its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan. Both library users and non-users are invited to take a survey. The survey can be accessed at thelibrary.org/survey until February 28. Paper copies are available at all library branches.

Those who participate can enter a drawing for one of five $50 Walmart gift cards, with the drawing set for March 3.

Additionally, the library is hosting focus group sessions at various branches and online—no reservation is needed.

Great Southern Bank Appoints Two Executives

Great Southern Bank has appointed Laura Smith as the new vice president and chief retail banking officer, and Stacy Fender as vice president of communications and marketing. These promotions come after the retirement of two executives.

Smith will oversee the bank’s 89 locations across several states, bringing over 15 years of experience from managing the Investments department. Fender, with 25 years in marketing and communications, will lead efforts in public relations, community engagement, and internal communications.

New Leadership at Mercy Springfield

Marie Moore has been named president of Mercy’s facilities in Washington and Lincoln County, Missouri. She has worked with Mercy for 17 years, starting as a nurse tech.

Moore holds a nursing degree and a master’s in healthcare administration from Missouri State University. She will move to Washington, MO, with her family.

BBB Welcomes New Advisory Board Members

The Better Business Bureau Springfield has elected three new members to its Advisory Board as of January 1.

  • Daniel Koren, owner of Branson/Springfield Roofing Co.;
  • Rafael Vite, founder of Primate Digital Marketing;
  • Sam Arthur, chief technology officer of ACIS IT Solutions.

Webster Electric Supports Honor Flight of the Ozarks

Webster Electric Cooperative has donated $10,000 to Honor Flight of the Ozarks to assist in transporting veterans to Washington, D.C. This funding will help cover the costs of flights, which total about $190,000 for each trip.

Three Honor Flights are planned for 2025, starting on May 28. The flights will now arrive at Dulles International Airport to improve scheduling. For more details, visit honorflightoftheozarks.com.

Blood Drive in Branson

A blood drive hosted by Our Lady Of The Lake Catholic Church is scheduled for Friday, March 21, from noon to 5 p.m. It will take place at the church’s Parish Center in Branson.

Herschend Honored for Public Service

Peter Herschend, co-founder of Silver Dollar City, received the Mel and Jean Carnahan Public Service Award on February 11. This award recognizes his dedication to public education and tourism in Missouri.

Herschend served 33 years on the Missouri State Board of Education and was recognized alongside other notable individuals. Scholarships were also awarded to two University of Missouri students.

Herschend’s work has greatly impacted Missouri’s economic development and community services.
