AMC Entertainment’s Kevin Connor Bids Farewell After 23 Years: Edwin Gladbach Steps Up as Interim General Counsel

AMC Entertainment, the biggest movie theater chain in the world, has announced some important changes. After 23 years of dedicated service, Kevin Connor, the Senior Vice President and General Counsel, will retire on March 13, 2025. He has been a key player in the company’s growth and has helped navigate through challenging times.

During his time at AMC, Kevin played a crucial role in major events like the merger with Loews Cineplex in 2006, the company becoming publicly traded in 2013, and acquiring several cinema chains such as ODEON and Carmike. Recently, he has been instrumental in helping AMC recover from the pandemic.

In his place, Eddie Gladbach, who has been Vice President of Legal since 2009, will step in as Interim General Counsel and Secretary. Eddie’s experience makes him a strong candidate for the long-term position.

AMC’s Chairman and CEO, Adam Aron, expressed gratitude for Kevin’s years of service and leadership. He also mentioned that they will consider both internal and external candidates when choosing the new General Counsel. Eddie Gladbach will lead the Legal Department during this transitional period.

AMC continues to innovate in the cinema industry, boasting nearly 900 theaters and over 10,000 screens worldwide. They have enhanced the movie-going experience with comfortable seating, diverse food options, loyalty programs, and premium viewing formats. In 2023, AMC further expanded by releasing concert films, including successful productions featuring Taylor Swift and Beyoncé.
