US President Donald Trump once praised Prime Minister Modi, calling him great. This shows a strong bond between the two leaders and highlights Modi’s growing importance on the world stage. As India and the US face trade and tariff hurdles, Modi has skillfully navigated these challenges, securing favorable agreements and strengthening ties. His ability to lead has made him one of the toughest leaders globally.

India’s economy is on the rise, with its GDP expected to hit over $4 trillion by 2024, making it the fifth-largest economy in the world. Modi’s government is working to double foreign trade to $2 trillion by 2030, boosted by strategic initiatives like ‘Make in India’ and record foreign investment surpassing $85 billion. His diplomatic approach has opened doors for trade agreements that reduce dependence on any single market.
During a recent visit to the US, Modi engaged in talks to address trade disputes. His commitment to increasing oil and gas imports from the US by $10 billion is paving the way for a robust energy partnership, with bilateral trade projected to reach $500 billion by 2030.
In terms of defense, Modi is strengthening India’s military capabilities. The defense budget has grown to $81.4 billion in 2024, and India is modernizing its forces while forming key alliances, including potential deals for advanced F-35 fighter jets with the US. This push for self-reliance shows Modi’s dedication to national security.
Modi also recognizes the power of technology. His investment in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and digital infrastructure aims to grow India’s digital economy to $1 trillion by 2030. A significant semiconductor agreement with the US is a crucial step toward independence from reliance on Chinese technology.
While US tariffs on Indian goods might seem detrimental, they could actually benefit India in the long run. Modi is turning these challenges into opportunities, pushing industries to innovate and improve. This drive towards better technology and production methods could lead to significant structural reforms in the manufacturing sector.
Experts agree that Modi has shown remarkable skill in diplomacy. Analysts from the US have praised his ability to navigate through tough negotiations with Trump, highlighting his visit to the US as a crucial moment to establish India as a key ally. Modi’s charm and strategic thinking helped strengthen the relationship between the two nations.
In a clever twist, Modi coined the term “MIGA” (Make India Great Again) to complement Trump’s “MAGA” (Make America Great Again), highlighting the benefits of collaboration. Together, they are forging a “MEGA” partnership for mutual prosperity.
Modi’s leadership recently brought a significant win in the fight against terrorism. He secured a commitment from Trump to eliminate terrorist safe havens worldwide. As part of this effort, an extradition related to the 2008 Mumbai attacks was approved, showcasing Modi’s dedication to justice and security for India.
Despite global challenges like the Russia-Ukraine war driving up energy prices, India, under Modi’s leadership, has become a key player in global oil diplomacy. The government has cleverly secured discounted oil from Russia and diversified its energy imports, maintaining strong international relationships.
Overall, under Modi’s guidance, India is redefining its global partnerships. Whether strengthening ties with Russia or deepening relationships with Western powers like the US, India is enhancing its economic, defense, and technological standing. Modi’s approach reflects a balanced strategy that aims for sustainable growth and resilience on the global stage.
