The Texas A&M University-San Antonio Bookstore has a new home! It has moved from the Central Academic Building to the Senator Frank L. Madla building, room 128. This change is exciting news for everyone on campus.
The move was completed on February 7 and the bookstore opened softly on February 10. “We wanted to minimize inconvenience to students, so we only closed for one day,” said Vilma Godoy, market leader for Follett Higher Education.
This new location makes it easier for students, faculty, and visitors to access the bookstore, especially during campus events. It also means students can visit even when the building is closed. “Now, if the building closes, we can still serve our customers,” Godoy added.
The bookstore offers a wide range of products, including snacks, drinks, academic materials, and school-branded gear. Prices for these items start at about $14 and go up to $30. “We provide textbooks and digital content at affordable prices because we’re here to support our students,” Godoy explained.
Sharon Amaro, the store manager and a San Antonio native, is excited to be part of this community. She joined A&M-San Antonio in June 2023 and has a strong background in customer service. “I really enjoy working with students and getting to know them. I try to remember names, especially for repeat customers,” she said.
The new location not only keeps the popular food options but also plans to introduce new selections every semester. This will give students even more choices when they stop by.
Additionally, students, faculty, and parents can shop online. They have the option for shipping or picking up their orders in-store. Plus, every purchase made helps fund student scholarships, thanks to Follett Higher Education.
A grand opening is on the horizon, complete with new merchandise and different vendors. Stay tuned for a date and time announcement!
