The game started slowly, with both teams struggling to find their rhythm. Freshman Gaby Patenaude broke the deadlock three minutes into the game. Just before the first quarter ended, Rita Gurri Capel scored again, putting the Beach ahead 2-0. Toronto got on the board with a late goal, making the score 2-1 as they headed into the second quarter.
In the second quarter, Long Beach dominated, scoring three consecutive goals to extend their lead to 5-1 with 2:32 remaining. Toronto managed to score one more, but Long Beach answered quickly. Back-to-back goals from junior Hailey Multz capped the quarter at 7-2.
The third quarter was a turning point. Long Beach went on a 7-0 scoring spree, controlling the game and pushing the score to 14-3 by the end of the quarter, despite a late penalty shot from Toronto.
The Beach finished strong, netting four more goals in the final quarter to seal the victory at 18-3.
Gurri Capel was the standout player, scoring four goals. Patenaude and Elisa Portillo each contributed nicely with a hat trick. Multiple players joined in on the action, with Martina Cardona, Hailey Multz, Daniela Quinzada Gonzalez, and Emma Seehafer each scoring two goals. In goal, Chelsea Oliver made six saves, while Charlotte Edler recorded three and Kayla Melville secured two.
