The Homegrown Festival 2025 is coming to Mumbai on February 22nd and 23rd. Located at Richardson & Cruddas in Byculla, this festival will turn into a vibrant space filled with culture and creativity.
This year, the festival showcases a mix of South Asian and global talents, celebrating modern Indian culture. Attendees can look forward to a variety of experiences across seven exciting areas: Music, Fireside Panels, Film, Fashion, Technology, Art & Design, and Urban Sports.
The music scene is just electrifying, featuring over 20 artists on two stages. Don’t miss the headliners like Peter Cat Recording Co., who will be performing at a festival for the first time in two years, as well as Prabhdeep x Sickflip, Yashraj, Tom VR, and Gigi FM.
Art lovers will find plenty to explore with six curated exhibitions. Santanu Hazarika’s “BLCK,” is a must-see, along with Nimish Kotwal’s impressive installation “Sinner” and Ronak Hingarh’s “Deep Jyoti Stambh.” The contemporary art exhibition includes works by Namrata Kumar, Bhumika Mukherjee, and Vriddhi, while a photography showcase highlights talents such as Samrat Nagar and Imdad Barbhuyan. Short films by rising creators will also add to the festival’s artistic flair.
The Homegrown Summit features engaging discussions with cultural figures. Some of the key panels include:
- Architects of Black Warrant: A discussion with Vikramaditya Motwane and the cast about the series.
- Women Behind Dabba Cartel: A chat with creator Shibani Dandekar and the cast before the show’s release.
- Spotlight on Filmmaking: National Award-winners Nag Ashwin and Arjun Varain Singh share insights into Indian cinema.
- The New Soundscape: Featuring Grammy-nominated Raja Kumari and renowned composers discussing music’s evolution in India.
- Building Brands in a Digital Era: With industry leaders discussing the future of homegrown brands.
For adventure seekers, the festival promises India’s first night drifting experience with Bad Boi Drifts in Mumbai. Plus, Germany’s Ride Further Tour will feature an electrifying BMX and skate showcase, with top athletes performing stunts.
In addition to the thrills, there’s a meaningful initiative called Helmets for India, focused on promoting helmet safety and awareness through art and culture. The festival also highlights emerging women musicians and challenges beauty standards through model hunts.
Varsha and Varun Patra, co-founders of Homegrown, express excitement for the festival’s goal to break traditional formats and celebrate the evolving identity of contemporary India. They promise an inspiring mix of music, art, fashion, and innovation.
