A$AP Rocky has been found not guilty in his gun trial. The verdict came on February 18 in Los Angeles at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center. The 36-year-old rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, celebrated with his lawyers as the courtroom filled with joy. He faced serious charges that could have led to 24 years in prison.

Rihanna, his partner, was there to support him. She made headlines earlier in the trial when she attended the closing statements with their two young sons, RZA and Riot Rose. They brought a touch of family warmth to the tense courtroom atmosphere.

Mayers didn’t testify during the trial. His defense argued that he was carrying a starter gun, which only fires blanks, and that he had no real weapon during the confrontation. One highlight of the trial was Rihanna’s presence, which added a layer of personal stakes to the proceedings. She attended multiple days of the trial and seemed to manage well under pressure.

A key moment during the trial was when Relli, who is suing Mayers for $30 million, accused him of shooting at him. Their relationship had soured, which added complexity to the trial. Defense attorney Tacopina challenged Relli’s claims by questioning his injuries, calling them minor and suggesting his lawsuit was financially motivated.

Experts noted that the prosecution faced significant challenges, with little concrete evidence backing their claims. Legal analyst Lauren Johnson-Norris raised doubts about the case, pointing out issues like missing evidence and the problematic nature of evidence presented to the court, including text messages that lacked context.
