Nashville – Ardent Health is using AI to help doctors save time and reduce stress, says their CEO, Marty Bonick.
Ardent Health is a for-profit healthcare system that runs 30 hospitals and over 200 other locations. It’s headquartered in Brentwood, Tennessee, near Nashville.
Recently, Bonick attended the ViVE digital health conference, where he shared insights about how Ardent employs artificial intelligence. He spoke about the exciting possibilities AI brings, as well as the cautious approach they are taking with its implementation.
How is Ardent Health Using AI?
“At Ardent, we’re really excited about how AI can improve patient care,” Bonick explained. “It helps our caregivers deliver care more efficiently and makes it safer for our patients. We are also looking at ways to streamline our processes to make healthcare easier to access.”
He noted that AI has a lot of potential, especially as it continues to develop over the next few years.
What Are You Excited About in the Future?
“AI can take care of routine tasks that health systems manage daily,” he said. “This could include pre-op calls, post-op follow-ups, and prescription reminders. We handle millions of patient interactions each year, and often, things can get complicated. AI could simplify these processes and make care more seamless for our patients.”
Overall, Bonick is optimistic about the role AI will play in transforming healthcare, helping both providers and patients navigate the system more effortlessly.
