Catch the Excitement: Ontario Writer and Producer Unveils ‘Dynamic’ Play in Penticton!

Dale Colleen Hamilton is bringing her acclaimed one-woman play, She Won’t Come in from the Fields, to Penticton next week. This powerful 20-minute performance will take place at the Tempest Theatre on Tuesday, February 25, starting at 3 p.m. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m.

Hamilton, who hails from Ontario, has toured the play across Canada, including stops in Prince Edward Island, Yukon, and even Vermont. In her show, she explores vital topics like food sovereignty and the impact of climate change on farming practices.

After the performance, there will be an engaging discussion with the audience about climate solutions and the difficulties faced by today’s farmers. This adds another layer to the experience, allowing everyone to share their thoughts and ideas.

The Tempest Theatre, a cozy venue with 75 seats located at 125 Eckhardt Ave, is excited to host this event. Thanks to a travel grant from the Canada Council for the Arts, tickets are free, but they need to be reserved in advance.

For over 40 years, Hamilton has been passionate about writing and producing theater that sparks conversation and encourages connection. She Won’t Come in from the Fields is the third one-woman show presented by Tempest Theatre this year, highlighting the importance of storytelling in fostering meaningful dialogue.
