“Kalyani Powertrain Joins Forces with AMD to Revolutionize India’s Server Market” | Autocar Professional

Bharat Forge, through its subsidiary Kalyani Powertrain, has teamed up with the American chip maker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). This partnership aims to create servers in India that meet international standards.

AMD will supply essential designs and technical support to help Kalyani Powertrain’s electronics division develop these locally made servers. Recently, Bharat Forge launched servers powered by AMD’s EPYC CPU. These processors are known for being powerful, energy-efficient, and secure, making them ideal for data centers.

Vinay Sinha, AMD’s Corporate Vice President, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. He mentioned that the combination of AMD EPYC processors and future plans to incorporate AMD Instinct accelerators will lead to more scalable and energy-efficient infrastructure, especially for AI and cloud computing.

Kalyani Group, based in Pune, is a multinational company that excels in various sectors, such as automotive, engineering steel, renewable energy, and urban infrastructure.

Baba Kalyani, the Chairman of Kalyani Group, highlighted the importance of manufacturing these servers in India. He believes that this initiative supports the ‘Make in India’ movement and enhances the country’s technological landscape.

Looking ahead, the partnership plans to further improve the servers’ capabilities in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. Together, they aim to deliver high-performing and cost-effective server solutions for businesses and government entities, which is vital for strengthening India’s data infrastructure.
