Last month, Microsoft announced that OpenAI’s o1 reasoning model is now free for all Copilot users. Today, they are extending this by offering unlimited access to both the o1 model and Copilot’s voice features. In the past, free users faced limits on both Think Deeper (the o1 model) and Voice capabilities. But now, users can engage in longer conversations with Microsoft’s AI assistant.
The Copilot team shared, “We are working hard to scale unlimited access to advanced features to as many people as possible. Starting today, you can enjoy Voice and Think Deeper.” However, they noted that users might see delays during busy times or if any security issues arise.
This change marks two years since Microsoft introduced Copilot in its Bing search engine, and it follows a recent update to the Copilot Pro subscription and the integration of AI features into Microsoft 365.
Microsoft continues to offer its $20 monthly Copilot Pro subscription. This plan gives users early access to advanced models during busy times and experimental AI features, along with more extensive use of Copilot in apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
