TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. — Residents have until the end of the month to share their thoughts on public health issues through the county health survey.

This survey helps the Tompkins County Health Department decide where to focus efforts and funding for things like preventive care, substance abuse programs, and environmental health.
Samantha Hillson, the Director of Health Promotion, emphasized the need for more diverse responses. She noted that while they have valuable feedback from older adults in the Ithaca area, they are especially looking for input from younger residents aged 18-34.
If you’re over 18 and live in the county, your opinion matters! Taking the survey is quick and anonymous. You can fill it out online, but options such as phone, mail, and in-person are also available. The online survey takes about five minutes to complete.
The survey is offered in multiple languages, including Spanish, Chinese, French, Russian, and Karen. Residents can submit hard copies in person at the health department or upload them online.
